Obituary for Eugene "Buzz" Walsh

Eugene "Buzz" Walsh
Eugene J. “Buzz” Walsh of the Plot Section of Scranton died Thursday, November 23, 2017, at the Mountain View Care Center following an illness.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Eugene Walsh and Mary Bordo Walsh Smith and step-son of the late Barney Smith; educated in Scranton schools, he proudly served with the Scranton Police department for over 28 years.
He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed fishing, gunsmithing, woodworking and looked forward to making soppressata annually with his family.
He was a member of the NRA, Bass and Angler Sportsman’s Society, Taurus Club, Fraternal Order of Police, and Mary, Mother of God Church.
Surviving are his children, Sam Walsh, Scranton, Brenda Walsh and significant other, David Weidow, Scranton, Denise Kroptavich and her significant other, Ken Srebro; Dickson City; step- children, Patricia Wilmot, and Robert Marcinko; grandchildren, Kevin, Peter, Aleysia, Jeffrey and Heather; brothers, John Walsh, Barney Smith, William Smith and wife Dorothy, Edward Smith; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by twin brothers, Robert and Richard Walsh, sons, Gary and John Walsh, and a grandson, Michael Lee.
The funeral will be conducted on Wednesday from the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave. with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Mary, Mother of God Church, 316 William St. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park. Family and friends may pay their respects Tuesday 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
