Anthony V. Sposto, age 35, a lifetime resident of Taylor, passed away in his home on Jan. 4, 2018 after losing a long battle with illness.
Tony, as his friends and family knew him, was born on July 4, 1982 in Scranton. He was the youngest son of James J. and the late Cindy Aniska Sposto.
Tony graduated from Riverside High School, Class of 2000. He was employed as a painter with Painters Local 218; his aerial painting skills were reported multiple times by Scranton and Wilkes-Barre newspapers. He also wrestled in an independent wrestling league.
Tony enjoyed music, mostly the British Scene; from the Beatles to Oasis to Blur. Additionally, he enjoyed the paranormal and supernatural. He was an avid listener of Coast to Coast and was very well read, devouring books as diverse as the Harry Potter series to Dean Koontz.
Also surviving are three brothers, James K. and wife, Renee, Taylor; Joseph and wife, April, Hanover Twp.; Rico and wife, Jena, Georgetown, Texas; three nephews and one niece.
A blessing service will be today at 3 p.m. in the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave., Scranton, by the Rev. Francis Pauselli, pastor of Divine Mercy Parish. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
