Nicholas M. Pelosi of West Scranton died Sunday January 21, 2018 at the Gino Merli Veteran’s Center following an illness.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Mary Mazzarella Pelosi; a graduate of West Scranton High School class of 1954, he proudly served in the United States Navy aboard an Aircraft Carrier.
Prior to his retirement he was a self-employed painter and decorator, he truly enjoyed his work and was extremely proud of the very fine workmanship he performed.
He enjoyed bowling, and vacations with his family.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and St. Lucy’s Church.
Surviving are two sons, Vincent, Garner, NC, and Nicholas, San Diego, CA.; a daughter, Renee and husband Thomas Staff, Clarks Summit; two sisters, Ann Dillon, and Theresa Bocker, both of Scranton; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and two great great nieces.
He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Frank, Leonard, and Gaeton “GUY”.
The funeral will be conducted on Thursday with mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Lucy’s Church, 949 Scranton St. Interment at Cathedral Cemetery will be private at the convenience of the family. The family will receive relatives and friends Thursday morning from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass, at the Church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 57 N. Franklin St. Wilkes Barre, Pa. 18701.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted and are under the care of the Guido-Fiorillo Funeral Home, 120 S. Main Ave.
