Obituary for Thomas Schuster

Thomas   Schuster
Thomas J. Schuster of the Tripp Park section of Scranton passed away Sunday April 22, 2018 surrounded by his wife and children. His wife is the former Karen Stevens, they would have celebrated their 40TH wedding anniversary in June.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late John A. Schuster and Josephine Petcavage Schuster. A graduate of Scranton Technical High School, he was a long-time employee of the Scranton Housing Authority.
Tom was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting and fishing year round. He liked to garden and cook. He was a people person, and always had a ready smile and a kind word for everyone he came into contact with. He especially loved his family and his many friends, and loved spending time with all of them. You could always count on him for a good laugh. He was a character and a gentleman.
He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, and the Knights of Columbus.
Also surviving is a son, Thomas and wife Tara, Scranton; a daughter, Katherine Anna Schuster, Philadelphia; a grandson, Thomas Martin Schuster; a brother, John Schuster and wife Tammy, Camp Hill; a sister, Sherry Black and husband Frank, Sterling; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted Saturday with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 1403 Jackson St. Everyone attending the funeral is kindly asked to go directly to church. Interment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery. Family and friends may call Friday 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick’s Church, 1403 Jackson St. Scranton, Pa. 18504.
