Patricia “Poopsie” Renda, 101, of North Scranton died Wednesday May 9, 2018 at the Allied Skilled Nursing Center.
Born in Scranton she was the daughter of the late George and Carolyn Esposito Renda. Educated in Scranton schools, prior to retirement she was employed in the local garment industry and was a member of the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union.
Patricia was an avid Bingo and card player and was a New York Yankees fan. She was a was a member of St. Anthony de Padua Church, until its closing, now member of Mary, Mother of God Parish.
Patricia’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff of 2nd Floor South at Allied Skilled Nursing Center for all of their kind and compassionate care.
Surviving is a sister Jennie Renda, Scranton; nieces and care givers, Patricia Poveromo and Carolyn Lee; several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by sisters Mary Forsetti, Josephine Colosimo, Rose Sposito, and Ange Csigi, Antoinette Renda; brothers Frank and Anthony Renda.
The funeral will be conducted on Monday from the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home 1030 N. Main Ave. Scranton with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Mary, Mother of God Church Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 316 William St. Interment Cathedral Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects Monday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the funeral Home.
