Mary J. McLane of Scranton passed away Monday at the Green Ridge Health Center following an illness, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary Meagher McGraw. She was a graduate of Holy Rosary High School, she was employed for many years as a Para Professional with the Scranton School District, and prior to her retirement was employed at F.W. Woolworths.
Mary was very proud of her Irish Heritage.
She was a loving mother, mother in law, grandmother, and great grandmother, she enjoyed spending time with her family and never missed any of her children or grandchildren’s sport activities and other functions.
Mary was very involved in the Democratic Party and served as a Committee Woman for many years, and active with the Scranton School District, and also was a longtime Judge of Elections.
She was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish.
The family would like go extend a special thank you to the entire staff at the Green Ridge Health Care Center for the wonderful care they provided.
Surviving is a daughter, Mari Wright and husband James, Scranton; a son Jeffrey McLane and wife Roxanne, Scranton; grandchildren, Kaeri Cruser and husband Jerry, Kellie Gaughan and husband Bill, Andrew McLane, Abigail McLane; great grandchildren, Kyle Cruser, Zachery Cruser, Jack Gaughan, Murphy Gaughan; two brothers, Patrick McGraw and wife Georgia, Florida, Nicholas McGraw and wife Kathy, Scranton; a sister, June Buckley and husband Jerry, Scranton; several nieces and nephews; also a special friend Nancy Bird, which she enjoyed traveling with very much.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Patricia, and infant Nora Jane; a brother, Robert McGraw and wife Carol.
The funeral will be conducted Thursday from the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave. with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Mary, Mother of God Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 316 William St. Interment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery. Family and Friends may pay their respects Wednesday 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
