David D. Morgan of Scranton died Monday after an illness. His wife of 45 years is the former Verna Kurash.
Born in Scranton, the son of the late Paul and Elizabeth Morgan, he was a proud United States Marine Corps Veteran of the Vietnam War. Before his retirement, he was the owner/operator of the Gutter King Roofing and Gutter Co. He was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church, Polish Club and the VFW Post 25.
Dave was an avid sports fan. He loved his dog Lady, but, most of all, he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with all of them.
Also surviving is a daughter, Melissa Siebecker and husband, Allan, Jessup; a son, David Morgan, Scranton; daughter, Michelle Jenkins, and her two children, Jacelynn and Jonathon, Moscow; two grandsons, Quinn and Josh; a brother, Paul (P.J.) Morgan and wife, Marie, Olyphant; sisters, Betty Ann Kellogg and fiancé, Curtis, Archbald; Linda Gavin and husband, William, Moscow; Sandy Ritter and husband, Dennis, Lake Ariel; Faith Morgan, Scranton; several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Janet Beavers; a brother, Gerald Morgan.
Funeral services will be conducted today at 7 p.m. in the Solfanellli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave.
Family and friends may call today starting at 4 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
