Anthony "Tex" Hardy of North Scranton died Wednesday September 26, 2018 at Allied Skilled Nursing Center. His wife is the former Rose Keen. They would have celebrated their 25th wedding Anniversary January 3rd.
Born in Scranton on June 11, 1945, he was the son of the late Harry and Angeline Ferrise Hardy. He was educated in Scranton Public Schools. Enlisted and served in the United States Army Reserves. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Local Union #130 as a laborer for fifty years. He enjoyed Harley-Davidson, hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. Tex and Rose took many trips to Las Vegas. Spending time with his family and friends was one of his greatest joys. He was a member of the Taurus Club, American Legion Post 665, VFW Post #25.
He is survived by his daughters, Kerri Hardy (Daniel Flynn), Peckville, Tara Thomas and husband Fred, Olyphant, a son Anthony Hardy, Florida and Stephanie Veater, Scranton; a brother, William and wife Patricia, Clarks Summit; five grandchildren; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter Lisa Hardy.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave. Scranton. Interment with military honors will follow at Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
